Brotherhood and Chapter renovation updates |
Dear Brothers, We have several pertinent updates we would like to share with the brotherhood at large.
Alumni Weekend is coming up soon ---> October 10th - 12th!!! |
Tragic passing of Casey Cuddy ('89) |
It has been about a month since my call from the Hudson Valley NYS Troopers informing me that our brother Casey Cuddy had been killed. Being the emergency contact on his apartment in Beacon was something that I only remembered afterwards. I still am having problems convincing myself that this is real. His sister Dana has been in contact with me, helping her to find NY lawyers and such. One of her Cuddy stories was bringing Casey to his first concert, Ozzy O. of course. Casey was a unique and intense man. Speaking with other Delts this last month has brought back many great Cuddy memories. Since leaving RPI, I have hung with WKCIV countless times East and West coast. He knows everyone in my family and helped us when my dad was ill at the end of his life. In fact he knows them all well enough that they have all seen at least one Cuddy melt down. |
His intensity sometimes resulted in rants that pushed many of us away, some temporary, some permanent. I hadn't spoken to him in a while due to a few consecutive phone/email diatribes about shit that happened decades ago. After a time I would always reach out and have a good conversation, resulting in meeting up somewhere, having a blast, and being very glad that I had reached out.
It was about time for me to take a solid dose of Cuddy this year and I cannot explain how much I wish I had done it before this summer. |
I hope many of us "Cuddy Aware" brothers can meet up this fall in Troy, and I hope to have Dana visit Upstate sometime in the next year and invite as many of you as possible to my place to share stories with her, my family and each other. yf Rob Crampton (Gazoo '90) |
In honor of Cuddy the UAA has received an anonymous $25k donation from Father Time. |

Delts about Delts - June 29th webinar Upsilon Chapter updates |
In an effort to keep Upsilon chapter alumni well-informed, on June 29th we held a webinar to provide several brief updates on recent accomplishments driven by the UAA, House Corp., and new chapter members. We also shared updates on upcoming events and milestones: Fall AWE, chapter recruitment plan, 133 Sunset renovations and fundraising. The updates were kept relatively brief to cover everything. |
Chapter Renovations have begun!!! |
The first phase of renovations have started at 133 Sunset Terrace, beginning with asbestos removal throughout the building. This first phase is expected to take a month (pictures below from mid-August), after which interior and exterior renovations will begin. We are on track timeline-wise, with a completion date of December 1st, 2025, followed by a final walkthrough before actives move-in ahead of the Spring 2026 semester. More details on renovations can be found here. Pictures from mid-August.

As we reactivate Upsilon and renovate the Shelter in 2025, your financial, expertise and volunteering support is most appreciated!!! The UAA has been created to strengthen the Delt community by providing face to face and virtual events, provide a communication platform for the Alumni, and importantly, provide continuity and separation from RPI. Your tax-deductible donation is appreciated, and eligible for corporate-matching via Benevity. Also, please consider how you can get involved directly in a UAA role in 2025. Please contact us for more info.
